BROWNBrown accepted 617 of the 3,016 early applications received for the class of 2019. The university deferred 1,968 applications to the regular admission round and rejected 408. The 3,016 applications for early decision this year represent a slight decrease from last year’s 3,088. Approximately 30,360 students applied to the class of 2019, marking a slight increase from previous years.
COLUMBIAColumbia received 3,373 early applications compared to 3,296 last year. Inasmuch as Columbia declined the release the exact number of admissions, the rate of admission should have remained similar with an estimated admission of about 600 students.
CORNELLCornell also failed to release its admissions’ statistics for the Class of 2019. We are estimating an admission rate of 25 percent of an applicants’ pool of 4,800.
DARTMOUTHDartmouth received 1,859 Early Decision applications for the Class of 2019. This represents a substantial increase over the Early Decision applications for the Class of 2018. Dartmouth accepted 483 ED applications –14 more than last year’s 469 students. Dartmouth deferred 787 applicants and rejected 578 applicants The 483 students will compose approximately 41 percent of the Class of 2019 estimated at 1110 students. Nearly 20,500 students have applied for acceptance to the Class of 2019, representing a more than six percent increase in applications over last year.
HARVARDHarvard accepted 977 students or 16.5 percent of the 5,919 early applicants to the Class of 2019. Last year, Harvard’s Early Action program admitted 992 students to the Class of 2018 for early admission from a pool of 4,692. The Office of Admissions deferred 4,292 applicants to be reconsidered in the regular application pool and rejected 541 students.
UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIAPenn received 5,489 early decision applications for the Class of 2019 and reported an increase from last year’s 5,149 early decision applications. Penn admitted 1,316 students under the Early Decision program for a 24% admit rate. The university plans to only accept 2,420 students to their undergraduate program this year out of more than 37,000 applications.
PRINCETONPrinceton admitted 767 students and received 3,850 applications for an acceptance rate of 19.9 percent of their applicants. The university deferred 2,918 applicants to the regular admissions and rejected 165 applicants. For the Class of 2018 the early admission numbers were lower with only 18.5 percent or 714 of 3,854 applicants accepted. Princeton forecasts a total admission of just above 1300 students for the Class of 2019 to be chosen from a record number of applicants. Princeton received 27,259 applications for its next freshman class, a 2 percent increase over last year.
YALEYale reported a total of 4,693 applications, a slight increase from last year’s 4,750 applications for its SCEA program. The school offered admission to 753 applicants for its Class of 2019. The 15.7 percent early acceptance rate marks an increase from last year’s 14.5 percent early admission rate.

STANFORDStanford accepted 10.18% percent of its SCEA pool by admitting 743 out of a record 7,297 applications. Last year, Stanford admitted 748 students out of 6,948 applicants. At less than 10 percent, the rates of admissions at both MIT and Stanford remain more than one-half of the combined Ivy League.

DUKEDuke reported that 3,180 students applied under its Early Decision program and 815 were offered admission to the Class of 2019. Last year, the university accepted 797 students through Early Decision. Students admitted through Early Decision this year will represent 38 percent of next fall’s incoming class, which is expected to include 1,705 students.
GEORGETOWNGeorgetown received 6,840 applications and admitted 907 students for an admission ratio of 13%. Last year, Georgetown received 6,734 applications and admitted 955 students for an admission ratio of 14%. The number of total applications for the Class of 2019 remained steady at 19,427 or nine fewer than last year.
JOHNS HOPKINSJohns Hopkins reported that 1,865 applied for the Class of 2010. This represents an increase of 70 applications from last year. 539 applicants will be the first students welcomed into the Class of 2019.
NORTHWESTERNNorthwestern University reported 2,793 applications and admitted 1,011 students to its Class of 2019. In 2014, Northwestern had 2,863 applications and admitted 925 students to its Class of 2018. With 32,090 total applications for admission to the Class of 2019, Northwestern has received 4.7 percent fewer applications than it did last year. Regular decision applications totaled 29,297.
